UREEQA Repositioning for an Exciting Autumn

You won’t find many start-up tech platforms that take direct routes from launch to the summit, and we’re no exception. There’s a lot of trial and error involved in the process of developing and branding technology as unique as ours, and we’ve learned a lot from the zigs and the zags along the way.

Repositioning

That said, we’re getting close. And there’s a lot to be fired up about on the horizon.

To begin, CEO Kirk Fergusson’s one-year tenure with UREEQA is unfortunately coming to an end as he pursues new opportunities. The organization made tremendous strides under Fergusson, whose expertise was specifically needed at UREEQA to elevate and solidify our market position and approach.

With a clear market position, we’re on the right track for an eventful autumn, under the tutelage of executive chairman Harsch Khandelwal and COO/CEO Joe Pillitteri, who is stepping up to take on more responsibilities at UREEQA.

The team under these leaders remains robust, versatile and extremely motivated. We’re set to accelerate marketing initiatives as part of a general repositioning. It’s a necessary step in order to remain nimble and avoid the complacency that often prevents new tech platforms from reaching their full potential.

There’s a lot to come, including significant branding and website changes, the launch of UREEQA Music, and referral and brand ambassador programs. Plus, we are currently set to provide validation for a few very cool NFT collections.

To boot, we’re currently in discussions with even more NFT collections, and on top of that NFT marketplaces, and multinational businesses who are interested in utilizing UREEQA to assert validation of provenance through our patent-pending processes and technology.

So yeah, we’re quite busy. And token holders, investors, creators, and UREEQA team members have a lot to look forward to.

Moving forward, we also want to ensure that all aspects of the UREEQA model are clearly understood by insiders and outsiders in this constantly evolving digital world.

Simply put, as a leader in proving and validating any creation that can be tokenized, we offer protection services that enable creators, NFT marketplaces and businesses to easily and securely manage their validated creative assets on the blockchain.

We’ve also expanded the use of our technology to create a new kind of music publishing for songwriters — a unique set of services to help songwriters protect their copyright and get what they rightly deserve from their royalties, as well as provide SYNC opportunities in television, streaming services, movies and commercials.

Most UREEQAns know this already, but it’s important we keep pushing that we believe we have a responsibility to help creators reap the benefits of the blockchain while understanding the importance of protection in a digital world. And we intend to do just that.

In terms of specific organizational changes, Pillitteri will take over for Fergusson, who leaves us in a tremendous position to execute on this exciting new leg of our journey. Pillitteri will now lead the execution of UREEQA’s strategy and B2B developments globally while continuing his rigorous oversight of overall operations. Meanwhile, Khandelwal will continue to lead the broad strategic vision of the business. And in addition to that…

  • Scot McCracken is now President of UREEQA Music, leading the music publishing subsidiary with dotted line accountability to UREEQA Inc.
  • Edmond Almond’s title has changed to VP of Creator Rights and Protection in order for us to put more focus on strategies to continue to protect creator rights as well as further advance our protection services in the particular area of infringement.
  • Maria Rebelo is now Director Business Development. An accomplished artist with great knowledge of the NFT world, she will focus on working with global NFT Collections.

There have been some zigs and some zags, but the route to global success is becoming straighter and clearer. Greatness lies ahead for UREEQA and those in the fold. Stay tuned.

About UREEQA

The UREEQA platform strives to protect creators’ work, their rights and their revenue by harnessing the power of blockchain technology.

Established in Canada in 2020, UREEQA is modernizing the inefficient and bureaucratic systems currently in place for copyright protection. By building a robust and compelling Package of Proof™ for source creative work, UREEQA only mints Validated NFTs to represent creative rights. This helps keep buyers safe by giving them confidence that the work they are purchasing was minted by the smart contract approved by the creator of the work and is therefore authentic.

UREEQA provides value and opportunities for its creators, validators and token holders via URQA, the token at the heart of the UREEQA ecosystem.
